Abstract:In order to control the initial contact area on the tooth surface of the worm gear pair the principle of differential geometry and gearing mesh, was used to condition the gear surface in the screw down device of large rolling mills. The method of adjusting curvature on the tooth surface of worm wheel and it’s application to vertical and nonvertical processing ot worm gear are introduced.
