Abstract:The results of inclusion morphology study for low carbon boron steels deoxidized by SiMn and Al indicated that the inclusions in steel deoxidized by SiMn is mainly of long MnOSiO2 strip type with a length to width ratio in range of 87166 duc to high deformation rate.It seems, that the proportion of deformed long strip type inclusions is increased with the increase of boron content. The inclusions in steel deoxidized by Al (0005% Al), were mainly of long duplex MnOAl2O3TiO2 and MnS strip type, with a length to width ratio in range of 93163. Comparative analysis showed that both of such long inclusions are low melting point plastic oxide inclusions containing B2O3. The inclusions in steel with 0041% Al were mainly Al2O3, and long deformed inclusion was not found in the steel.
