Furnace Maintenance Law of Iron Ore Titanium-Bearing in Blast Furnace

Abstract:The influencing factors for the precipitation of titanium carbonitride and the reasons of unsatisfactory protecting performance were discussed with thermodynamics calculation. The result indicates that silicon content can restrict the titanium content in hot metal. So temperature of hot metal should be kept in the appropriate limits to promote the reduction of TiO2 in slag and silicon content should be increased to ensure that the titanium content is enough in hot metal. On the other hand, decreasing the surface temperature of eroded carbon brick can reduce the solubility of titanium, which can improve the precipitation of titanium in hot metal. Further more, titanium-bearing materials should be used in production process of blast furnace for a long time. The titanium covering layer can be formed in a short time after being peeled off, which can be got by the calculation of titanium balance.
