Abstract：The microstructure and mechanical properties of cold treatment 16Cr14Co12Mo5 bearing steel was investigated. Compared to the quenching state, experimental steel through two cold treatment and high tempering, the surface hardness reached 50.7HRC, the tensile strength Rm reached 1800MPa and yield strength Rp0.2 reached 1400MPa, the values of ballistic work was 75.0J, the strength and hardness of experimental steel had been significantly enhanced. By XRD detection, after twice cold treatment austenite content dropped from 26.0% to 3.1%. This results show that after cold treatment and the high tempering, in steel 80% of austenite transformed into martensite, austenite content is significantly reduced, organization becomes more stable, and a certain amount of fine second phases can be separated out in the process of tempering.
