Effect of secondary cold rolling reduction rate on microstructure and properties of tinplate

Abstract：In order to develop secondary cold-rolled tinplate，effects of the secondary cold rolling reduction on the microstructure and properties of the tinplate were studied by the hardness tester，tensile tester，optical microscope，transmission electron microscope and X-ray diffractometer. The results showed that as the secondary cold rolling reduction rate increasing，the hardness and strength of the test steel increased，the anisotropy increases，and the elongation decreased. When the secondary cold rolling reduction rate was 20%，the higher hardness and elongation match could be reached. At the same time，the secondary cold rolling reduction had a significant influence on the texture. When the secondary cold rolling reduction rate was between 20% and 40%，the highest orientation density in the α-orientation line appeared between {223}〈110〉 and {445}〈110〉，which could reach 6.2. And with the secondary cold rolling reduction rate increasing，the {111}〈110〉 orientation density in the γ-oriented line gradually decreased from 3.1 to 2.7，and the {111}〈112〉 orientation density gradually increased from 4.9 to 5.3.
