Influence of Basicity on Microstructure of Sinter Using Sijiaying Ore Fines |

Abstract The microstructure and metallurgical properties of different basicity of sinter using sijiaying ore fines were investigated by means of polarization microscope. The result shows that: with increase of the basicity of sinter, the content of calcium ferrite is increased obviously, the contents of magnetite, hematite and glassiness are reduced. The microstructure is transformed from porphyritic-granular to interweaving corroded. The shape of magnetie is changed from idiomorphic, hypautomorphic to xenomorphic, the shape of hematite is changed from diamond to xenomorphic, the shape of calcium ferrite is changed from xenotopic and stylolitic to acerous. The drum strength, RDI and reducing property of sinter are improved.
