Practical application of 1/3 coking coal and gas coal in Shougang Group |

Abstract In order to reduce the coking production cost of Shougang Jingtang Company,systematic coking investigations were conducted with a 300 kg coke oven to analyze the variation of coke optical microstructure and coke strength when using 1/3 coking coal and three kinds of gas coal. The results show that the ratio of 1/3 coking coal should be less than 10% and the ratio of QM1 and QM3 should be less than 7% if 1/3 coking coal or QM intend to replace strong cohesive fat coal or coking coal. The result was used to guide the coking production of Jingtang Company, which saved 25.11 million yuan in coking coal blending cost in 2019 with a remarkable benefit. Therefore, it is of great significance to increase the proportion of low rank including gas coal and 1/3 coking coal for optimizing coal blending structure and reducing coking cost.
