Theoretical Analysis on Pressure Loss in Blast System of BF |

Abstract Based on the fluid dynamics, the calculated model of pressure loss was developed for blast system of BF, and the pressure loss of blast system was analyzed theoretically. Furthermore, the effect of pressure loss in blast system on blast velocity and blast momentum in front of tuyere was discussed. According to the performance of 5000m3 superlarge blast furnace, firstly, the pressure loss of blast system is about 11% of the measured pressure at the end of hot blast main. Secondly, under the same air quantity, the blast velocity and blast momentum with considering the pressure loss of blast system are higher than those without the pressure loss of blast system. Finally, in order to reduce the tuyere losses, the upper limit of blast velocity should be controlled below 280m/s, and the upper limit of blast momentum should be suggested bdlow 18000 kg(f)•m/s.
