Kinetics of Hot Metal Desulphurization by Injection |

Abstract For better effect results of hot metal desulphurization, the desulfurizers should be selected according to the desulphurization thermodynamics firstly. However, the effect of desulphurization is also determined by the kinetic conditions. Thus theoretical calculation and analysis on the conditions of penetrating into hot metal, rising up velocity in hot metal, residence time and dissolving time for different desulfurizers (Mg, CaO and lime) were carried out respectively. The result is helpful to determinate the optimum desulphurization process and select equipment rationally.
