Abstract Blast furnace smelting technology has been developing and improving continuously and specific intensification technology for smelting vanadiumbearing titanomagnetite was developed with the progress of material preparation and the improvement of equipment since Pangang went into production thirty years ago. Technicoeconomic indexes of BF operation were enhanced remarkably. The utilization coefficient exceeds 2.5 t/(m3·d) on the condition that the burden grade is only 50%.
