Abstract In present work, 13 experimental coal blends with similar caking property were tested by 70kg small coke oven test. Compared with the relationship between coke thermal property and mineral catalysis index, coal maceral and coke optical texture ,it was found that coke thermal property depends mainly on mineral catalysis index (MCI)in the ash when the coal blends have similar caking property; the content of coal macerals has an impact on coke thermal property; the influence of optical anisotropy index(OTI) and optical texture value as well as coke reactivity(CRI) on coke post-reaction strength (CSR) can be observed. The conclusion has important practical significance to guide coal blending production, stabilize and improve coke thermal property.
