Abstract The possibility and advantages of producing oriented silicon steel by thin slab casting and rolling（TSCR）technology are described.Results show that the coldrolled silicon steel can be produced using TSCR process reasonable chemical composition proper precipitation of prohibitors and subsequent nitriding treatment as the key moments.
