Effect of Boron on Hardenability of P20 Steel |

Abstract Effect of Boron on the hardenability of plastic mould steel P20 was investigated in laboratory. The results show that the Ccurve of the micro boron alloged P20 is somewhat shifted to the right and formation of proeutectoid ferrite is restrained,the critical hardenable diameter (for oil quenching) is increased from 380 mm to 500 mm.
