Microstructure-Properties and Profile of Thin Strip by Semi-Endless Rolling |

Abstract The key equipment and technology analysis of semi-endless rolling, such as the flying shear working status analysis and control, the joint application of semi-endless rolling and rolls gap lubrication, were introduced, and the effect of semi-endless rolling process on the microstructure and properties, thickness accuracy and profile quality (such as strip crown and wedge degree) was discussed. The results show that the microstructure and properties of the ultra-long strip produced by semi-endless rolling process have better uniformity and stability. Besides, semi-endless rolling process has obvious advantage in terms of ensuring good thickness accuracy, perfect profile quality and expanding specifications of the thin strip products compared with conventional short-slab rolling. Furthermore, the semi-endless rolling process for ultra-thin strip has been applied widely in the replacement of cold product by hot product.
