Abstract The offgas analysis and dynamic control technology was introduced to produce the low-carbon and low phosphor steel using high silicon hot metal for 120t converter at Masteel. Through controlling reasonable load, slag and supply oxygen system, using slag retaining and dual slag technique, controlling the slag tipping time, optimizing slagging process and controlling splash, the following results is achieved, the aim phosphorus content is less than 0012%, slag splashing percentage is reduced from 18.2% to 5.1%, metal loss is decreased from 10.3% to 8.2%, the hit rate of aim carbon content is increased from 81.5% to 91.7%.
