| Effect of Ti and Nb on High Temperature Mechanical Property of Ferritic Stainless Steel Used for Hot End of Automotive Exhaust System |

Abstract After high temperature solid solution and aging treatment for containing Nb and Nb-Ti ferritic stainless steel, its high temperature mechanical properties were tested by high-temperature tensile test. The results show that the heat-yield strength of Nb steel decreases faster with extended aging time; however, there is little change for high-temperature yield strength of Nb-Ti steel. Solid solution Nb and microscopic structure was analyzed by phase analysis, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. It is found that the solid solution Nb content decreases during aging, and after aging 500h, the difference of solid solution niobium between Nb and Nb-Ti steel is not significant. The precipitation phase of Nb steel is mainly NbN and M6C phase (Fe3Nb3C), but the precipitation phase of Nb-Ti steel is mainly NbTi(C,N) and Laves phase (Fe2Nb). After long time aging, distribution of the coarsening M6C and Laves phase are significantly different. M6C phase distribution along the grain boundary is not obvious, while Laves phase mainly in the continuous distribution at grain boundaries, grain boundaries play a role in drag.
