Abstract Aim to improve the uneven internal organization and low magnification microstructure defects in GCr15 steel,which could not be solved by the conventional way,the rolling technology based on non-uniform temperature field was proposed in the current study. Under non-uniform temperature field,the rolling process of GCr15 steel was simulated by using DEFORM finite element software and compared with the conventional way. Besides,the Gleeble physical simulation technology was employed to validate the simulation results. The results of simulation and experiment show that the deformation and the fined structure at the center were increased and the problem of the uneven internal organization and low magnification microstructure defects of GCr15 steel were improved by rolling technology base on non-uniform temperature field.
