Basic Sintering Characteristics of Several Common Types of Imported Iron Ores
According to present status of imported iron ores in China, the basic sintering characteristics of eight kinds of imported iron ores, such as assimilation, capacity of calcium ferrite formation and liquid phase fluidity, were investigated. The relationship between the basic sintering characteristics and the physical and chemical properties of iron ores was systematically discussed. The results show that: with the increase of the TFe content , the decrease of the ratio A/S and Ig in iron ore, the assimilation of temperature has an increasing trend. The formation capacity of calcium ferrite increases with increase of Al2O3 content and A/S. With the increase of SiO2 content ,the decrease of Al2O3 content and the ratio A/S, the fluidity of liquid phase rises.

80t Single Snorkel Vacuum Refining Equipment
Single snorkel vacuum refining equipment is a new style refining equipment. One hundred twenty seven heats experiments on decarburization were carried out by 80t single snorkel vacuum refining equipment. The results indicate that single snorkel vacuum refining equipment can obtain better decarburization effect. The minimum content of carbon is 10×10-6. The experiment process of single snorkel vacuum refining equipment is introduced in this text, and analyzing different inflation factors for results of decarburization. The factors contain flow ration of ladle bottom blowing, thickness of slag in the ladle, free space height of ladle, treating time, temperature and component of steel liquid. The reasonable technology parameters were suggested.

Thermodynamics Analysis and Control of Formation of Magnesia-Alumina Spinel During Refining of Ultra-Low Oxygen
The analysis and calculation to the formation mechanism and producing thermodynamics of magnesia-alumina spinel in refining process of ultra-low oxygen experimental steel shows that magnesia-alumina spinel can be formed when the contents of w((MgO)) exceeds 17% in MgO-Al2O3 binary system in 1873K, and the Al2O3 inclusions can transform to magnesia-alumina spinel in front of middle period of LF refining when the aluminium deoxidation molten steel is refined by high basicity and w((CaO))/w((Al2O3))≈1 and strong reducibility top slag in LF refining. The magnesium in molten steel is the medium and bridge of realizing Al2O3 to magnesia-alumina spinel, but the w([Mg]) is controlled by acid-soluble aluminium. Therefore keeping sufficient aluminium in molten steel is the precondition of producing magnesia-alumina spinel. Only more than 1.32×10-7 of w([Mg]) can produce magnesia-alumina spinel when w([Al]) exceeds 0.03% in productive process.

Mechanism Analysis and Control of the Edge Defects on Container Strips of SPA-H
The causes of edge defects on container strips produced by FTSR thin slab casting machine in Tonghua Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. were analyzed. The edge defects ratio of container strips was effectively controlled by optimization of second cooling water, changing the segments with fail rollers on time, removing scale between segment rollers to decrease torsion of pinch rolls, reducing the soft reduction roller gaps by multiple steps, and controlling w([Als]) and w([N]) in the molten steel.

Refining Technology for Reducing w([TO]) in Steel
In order to produce low oxygen steel with high quality, converter slag-tapping, slag oxidability and oxygen activity were analyzed. In addition, modifying and adding process of slag, control of slag oxidability and bottom argon-blowing in ladle were researched as well. On this basis, refining process which is good for low oxygen steel producing with converter-continuous casting process has been developed. The results show that w([TO]) in steel is not more than 15×10-6.
