Abstract��The temperature field of GCr15 bearing steel with diameter �]160mm in water cooling process was simulated by software MSC.Marc.The latent heat of phase transition was added to the temperature field in the form of inner heat source by using its subprogram ��ufilm��and ��flux��. By analyzing the temperature variation of the bar along radial direction under different phase transition enthalpy, the influence of phase transition latent heat during the controlled cooling process was theoretically discussed. The results show that when considering the latent heat, the cooling rate of the bar slows down. As it gets close to the core of the bar, the temperature rises larger. When considering the phase change, the original control scheme does not meet the technological requirements. Therefore, while using numerical simulation to study controlled cooling process, in terms of the discussion about controlled cooling technological requirements of GCr15 bearing steel bar, the phase transition latent heat shouldn��t be ignored.
