Call for Papers for the Special Issue on “Resources Recycling of Solid Wastes from Ironmaking and St

As for the important role in the action of peaking carbon and carbon neutrality in the industrials, the iron and steel industry, that the foundation of the national economy, highly needs the implement of novel development concept. The iron and steel production process produces more than 600 million–t/year solid waste, including metallurgical dust mud, blast furnace slag, steel slag, etc. From the view of environmentally friendly, the efficient utilization of solid waste resources from the ironmaking and steelmaking with the cross-industry innovative technologies is of great significance to achieve the goal of low-carbon, green and high-quality development, which not only reduces the harm to the environment and consumption of natural resources, but also promotes significant economic benefits.
To present and summarize the new technology and theory of solid waste resource utilization in the iron and steel industry, Prof. Xue-wei Lv from Chongqing University, Prof. Hong-ming Long from the Anhui University of Technology, and Prof. Run Huang from Guizhou University are invited as guest editors to organize a special issue on “Resources Recycling of Solid Wastes from Ironmaking and Steelmaking” in 2023. The Special Issue includes but is not limited to the following fields.
  • Utilization status and development trend of ferrous metallurgical solid waste;
  • Novel technologies for recycling blast furnace slag;
  • Novel technologies for recycling steel slag;
  • Novel technologies for recycling metallurgical dust mud;
  • Resource utilization for the used refractory material;

Recycling valuable metals from solid waste.
