Abstract:The slab mold is the key equipment in the continuous casting slab production. Because of rapid cooling and heating, large temperature gradient changes, extremely strict requirements are needed for the design, installation and adjustment of the mold. The clamping device can not only ensure high-quality continuous casting billet, but also maintain the cavity shape stability. The clamping device changes with the frame structure of mold. Based on the working conditions and structural characteristics of the slab caster mold in VAI company, the basic function, operating requirement, design philosophy, working principle and maintenance of the U type frame and spring rod clamping device were studied.
