Abstract:Combined with the high temperature mechanical experiments of steel grades, the production process of high carbon steel BJS55C was optimized in a steel plant. The secondary cooling intensity of bending section was weakened, and the distribution of cooling water in each zone was adjusted to avoided the brittle temperature range. As a result, the incidence of corner cracks of slab was reduced by 41%. The dynamic soft reduction zone was optimized. Meanwhile, the reduction increased by 15%. As a result, the macrostructure index of slab improved from 2.6 to 2.0. The melting point of high carbon steel mold flux was decreased from 1 100 ℃ to 980 ℃, and the viscosity of mold flux at 1 300 ℃ decreased from 0.14 Pa·s to 0.08 Pa·s. The melting effect and permeability of mold flux were obviously improved. Some key problems in the production of high carbon steel slab were solved, and the batch stable production of high carbon steel by continuous casting was realized.
