Abstract The thick slab casting steel Q345E for wind power flange is favored for the price advantage and is an alternative to replace expensive round billet products. The key point is the feasibility of slab as an alternative, and the most important quality is its internal quality control; dynamic soft reduction is considered to be one of the most important means which improve interior quality. After the improvement, Q345E steel internal quality is stable, meets the requirements of wind power flange, and has won good reputation.
