Abstract Solidification characteristics and performance under high temperature based on the function of alloying agent in stainless steel were analyzed and its demand to continuous casting mold process and equipment was discussed. The requirement to configuration of mold was set forth. The function and condition of stainless steel mold were presented, which provided reference and support for designing stainless steel mold.
