Abstract Reasonable dynamic secondary cooling water can improve the slab quality effectively,and it is also important to control the continuous casting process. Because superheat control is poor, the final position of surface temperature and solidification has been changed, so that the influence casting quality was affected. By using the methods of "equivalent speed" and "solidification model control", different districts of the cooling water with different superheats were adjusted. So that the slab surface temperature and the solidification position stability were ensured to be stable under stable casting speed and different superheats.
