Roll-Gap Deviations Analysis and Controlling in Soft Reduction Processing of Continuous Casting |

Abstract The rolls gap shifting and rolls gap deviation phenomena were found in a slab continuous caster as the dynamic soft reduction system was put into the service. Spot testing and mechanism analyses were organized to find out the reason. It was found that the temperature change induced the rolls gap shifting and elastic deformation of segment, then the rolls gap deviation was caused, and corresponding measures were taken accordingly.
