Abstract By analyzing the mechanism of the down deflection causes on multi-strand tundish in the production of continuous casting, and by means of theoretical analysis, site survey and technical communication, a new kind of structure device was developed on the tundish. Then the problem of down deflection on tundish can be resolved;the requirement of multi-furnace continuous casting can be fulfilled; the use-cost of refractory of tundish can be greatly reduced; and the considerable economic value for the corporation has been created.
