Abstract The existing technology products status of on-line thermal wide-altering device was analyzed; and electric cylinder on-line thermal wide-altering technology on slab continuous casting mould was developed independently and has been used on slab continuous casting mould in a steel factory. System composition, working principle, technical index, main advantages, motion rule, control mode and achieved results of this new technology have been introduced.
