Abstract The actual service conditions of coal mill were simulated in the laboratory. The corrosion resistance and wear resistance properties of wear resistant steels HNM450 and HARDOX450 were compared and studied. Under the conditions of high temperature at 200 ℃, weakly acidic (pH = 5) or weakly alkaline (pH = 9) and humid environment, the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of Hesteel HNM450 was better than that of HARDOX450. At the same time, both Hesteel HNM450 and HARDOX450 showed better corrosion resistance and wear resistance in weakly alkaline (pH = 9) medium than that in weakly acidic (pH = 5) medium.
