Abstract In the production development of modern society, the nondestructive testing technology plays an important role in improving material utilization, enhancing production efficiency and promoting products to meet both quality and economic benefits. Good visual acuity of operators is the basis for implementing the non-destructive testing. Whether for ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, penetrant or visual testing, the testing results of final products require inspection personnel to use eyes to see and judge. In order to check the sensitivity and near vision of eyes of personnels engaging in nondestructive testing, improve the reliability of product testing results, and reduce the missed inspections, the visual acuity checklist, shades of gray card and grey card for nondestructive testing was developed in this study.
