Effect of Heat Treatment Parameters on Performance and Microstructure of X80 Hot Bended Pipe Steels

Abstract

Heat treatment is necessary for X80 hot bended pipe during forming process. The effect of heat treatment parameters on performance and microstructure should be deeply studied to make the pipes good quality. X80 hot bended pipe steels were heattreated with different technologies, then the performance, microstructure, the relationship between properties with quenching temperature and tempering temperature were investigated. The results show that with the increase of quench temperature strength rise but toughness is worse; structure, dislocation and precipitation etc will be changed with the increase of temper temperature, and strength fluctuate along, toughness is better. The proper heat treatment parameters are firmed according to the principle of matching for strength and toughness.
