Abstract:
The medical metrology is an important basic technology to guarantee the accuracy of the operation of medical devices, the reliability of doctors' diagnostic conclusions, and the safety of the patient's treatment process. It is the crucial support for countries to enhance the level of public health and promote the development of medical industry. This paper analyzes the present situation of policies and technologies in relation to medical metrology in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN), based on the countries of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. The challenges faced in the development of medical metrology in ASEAN countries are discussed to provide strategic suggestions in terms of policy design, talent cultivation, and technological innovation.
