Abstract: Measurement is an activity that achieves unit unity and ensures accurate and reliable measurement values. It is an essential foundation for ensuring people's livelihoods, technological innovation, industrial development, and national defense construction. It is also an important support for building an integrated national strategic system and capability. The development level of the metrology industry is an important indicator of the country's core competitiveness, and has a fundamental and strategic position in the overall work of the Party and the state. Metrologists play a crucial role in it. The State Council's “Metrology Development Plan(2021—2035)” and the “Guiding Opinions of the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Promoting the Improvement of Enterprise Metrology Capability” propose to encourage enterprises to innovate in job settings, establish the system of chief metrologist for enterprises, and regard the chief metrologist for enterprises as an important component of the construction of the metrology talent team. Therefore, the construction of the system of chief metrologist for enterprises should be explored.
