Abstract:In order to study the cleanliness of pressure vessel steel 12Cr1MoVG produced by EAFLF/VDCC route at Tianjin Pipe Company Ltd., the change of total oxygen (w(T[O])), microinclusion and macroinclusion content in the liquid steel through the process was measured systematically, with tracers and comprehensive analysis of samples. The results showed that in experimental heats the w(T[O]) was 15×10-6 after LF/VD refining and 17×10-6 in tundish, and (1824)×10-6 in billet in average. The number of microinclusions less than 10 μm in size was 353/mm2, which were mainly spherical calcium aluminate, aluminosilicate and compound inclusion of aluminate and sulphide. The macroinclusions were mainly ferrumaluminum silicate, magnesiumcalcium silicate, et al, which are formed during reoxidation, refractory erosion and slag entrainment in ladle and mold.
