On Line Optimization of Intermediate Thickness SetUp on Tandem Cold Mill

Abstract:In order to improve the stabilization and calculation precision for cold rolling,the 1220mm fivestand cold tandem mill was taken as an object of investigation. With consideration of characteristics of cold rolling, the original nonlinear load model is adopted with Powell optimization to realize online optimization of intermediate thickness steup without reduction of calculation precision.In this way not only the calculation speed and precision can be improved largely, but also nonconvergence in the calculation procedure can be prevented. Because of avoidance of troubles caused by problems in calculation model, more benefits can be obtained.
