Abstract:The microstructure of Twinning Induced Plasticity (TWIP) steel during tensile deformation was investigated with SEM and TEM. The results showed that the twins deformed firstly with workhardening, then other grains turn to favorable orientation to complete further deformation. This deformation mechanism of twinning induced plasticity provides excellent elongation with nonecking phenomenon. The orientations of first deformed twins are transferred to annealing twin’s hereditarily. The twintwin interaction, the twindislocation interaction and the twinsliding interaction play an important role during deformation.
