Abstract:In 2006, Chinese steel industry produced 418.78 million tons of crude steel and 404.16 million tons of iron. This paper describes the current situation of Chinese blast furnace ironmaking and the progress achieved after entering the 21st century. The rapid growth of Chinese steel industry has brought about high demand for natural resources and heavy impact on global environment. This paper analyses the existing problems and anticipates the prospect of ironmaking industry in China.
