Abstract:Based on the dynamic phase transformation theory, the thermal simulation rolling tests with different parameters have been performed for 34Mn2VN to enhance impact toughness and the effect of processing parameters on microstructure and impact toughness was studied. Non quenched and tempered N80 oil casings of high quality have been produced on existing 180 production line at Baotou Iron & Steel (Group) Co. Ltd by optimizing processing parameters in which the finish rolling temperature is 850 ℃ and the cooling rate after rolling is 0.8~1.5 ℃/s. The results indicate that non quenched and tempered N80 oil casings produced meet the requirements of API SPEC 5CT seventh edition with improved impact toughness.
