Abstract:Effect of argon blowing and the second refining on inclusion removal in pipeline steel were investigated. The results showed that,the total oxygen removal rate of LF refining is about 20%, and N content is increased slightly.The area ratio of inclusion is decreased by 40%50% during LF refining.After LF refining the fraction of inclusions of 25 μm in size is increased from 40%50% to 80%90%, but the size of large inclusions is not changed obviously.
