Abstract:In order to make tungsten carbide/steel composite roll rings of low cost, based on the relationship between required bonding strength and rolling torque and the bonding strength of different glues, the tungsten carbide/steel composite roll rings were developed by use of chemical bonding, and the composite rolls were tested on the Pomini mill.The results show that the composite roll rings made by chemical bounding have advantages of easy processing and low cost, and the roll performance is as good as that of the composite rings made by metallurgical process,so they can be used on bar mills or other small section mills.
