Abstract:On the basis of K.Yamaguchi’s Mass Balance Model, a decarburization model is built for the precise prediction of carbon and oxygen content, which takes the oxygen transfer behavior between ladle top-slag and liquid steel into account. The effects on RH decarburization of several parameters including lift gas flow rate, vacuum pressure reduction curves, KTB starting time and initial carbon and oxygen content are investigated. A recommendable initial oxygen / carbon ratio is raised based on the model’s calculation result, according to which the KTB starting time can be identified.
