Discussion on checker brick deformation and jam of regenerator of 7.63 m coke oven and its replacement in WISCO

Abstract:The current study analyzed the reasons of the incomplete maturity of partial coke and the gas leakage at the exhaust disk in WISCO 7.63 m coke oven. It’s inferred that was caused by checker brick deformation and jam of regenerator. Then the preparation of the replacement,the replacement,the replacement steps,the temperature rise and recovery of the checker brick of 71A-72 on 7.63 m coke oven were introduced. The checking of the checker brick showed that the main reasons of the problem were the design of the checker brick of the regenerator,graphite problems at the initial stage and the heating gas and the material of the checker brick. The horizontal curve became normal and there was no gas leak after the checker brick of regenerator was replaced in WISCO 7.63 m coke oven. Meanwhile,the improvement of the smooth operation of coke oven relieved the pressure of safety and environmental protection which provided some references for the domestic counterparts.
