Investigation and Mechanism Research on Hearth Corrosion of NO.2 BF in Baosteel
The corrosion furnace hearth was made a macroscopical investigation and microscopical analysis after blast furnace was shut down. Results indicate that the carbon brick between the tap holes is the most seriously corroded, the brittle crack zone is evidently existed on the hot side of carbon brick, and the chemical composition in the hearth is different. Researches find that the long campaign life of No.2 BF in Baosteel owe to the high thermal conductivity hearth and protection of the solidified pig iron layer on the refractory surface, and the main reasons of hearth corrosion are heat stress and carbon dissolution of carbon brick.

Thermal Distribution Design, Status Analysis and Working Lifetime Prediction for Blast Furnace Hearth Lining
Thermal distribution model of BF hearth lining is established on the base of energy balance principle by dividing BF hearth lining into limited units according to operation conditions of BF hearth, which has been applied to BF hearth lining design and necessary BF process design optimizing to achieve reasonable thermal distribution in BF hearth lining. On such a base, the working lifetime of BF hearth lining could be predicted by predicting BF hearth lining corrosion conditions according to thermal couple readings in BF hearth lining during BF operation. The study has shown that corrosion speed of ceramic cup is very slow for the blast furnaces which adopt “Carbon-Ceramic Cup” hearth lining optimized by thermal distribution design technology. It is predicted that the lifetime of ceramic cup at “Elephant Foot” area could be more than 10 years.

Coke strength and its influence on coal powder injection
A continuous hot model of lumpish zone in a blast furnace was used to get the relationship between carbon loss rate of coke and temperature in lumpish zone. The limitation of carbon loss rate outside combustion zone was theoretically analyzed. The compressive strengths of coke at high temperature with relevant carbon loss rate were measured using a high temperature compressive machine with adjustable atmosphere. According to the influences of temperature and carbon loss rate, formulas to calculate the real strengths of different kinds of coke in a blast furnace were deduced and the transformation rule of coke strength in blast furnace was discussed. The influences of injection and combustion rates of coal powder on carbon loss rate of coke were analyzed. According to the influence of coal powder injection on coke strength, a method to calculate the suitable combustion rate of coal was given in this paper.

The Development and Application of Dynamic Soft Reduction Control Model in Bloom Continuous Casting Machine
The dynamic soft reduction technology is the effective method to reduce and even eliminate the centerline looseness and segregation of continuous casting strands. In the present paper, a bloom dynamic soft reduction control model was studied and developed for No.2 bloom continuous casting machine in Panzhihua steel, and the gap values calculation method for the press rolls of withdrawal and straightening machines during the process of soft reduction was presented. The model application results show that quality of the blooms has been improved obviously, and the integrated qualified rate of blooms central segregation and central looseness defects class ≤1.0 is up to 99.03%.

Effect on 3-D Carbon Segregation of High Carbon Steel Solidification Structure with Electric Pulse Modification Treatment
Abstract: By contrasting of settled and unsettled test specimens, the following conclusions were obtained: the sample imposed electric pulse in a liquid state can made the 3-D carbon segregation remarkable improved. Fluctuations of the carbon content in different cross-section were less than 4.6% for settled test specimen, but for unsettled test specimen it reached to 11.9%. The distribution of carbon content in different height sections for corresponding points--center point, 1/2 radius and edge point tend to be even if the sample was treated by electric pulse, and the variations are 4.5% and 12.5% respectively for treated and untreated sample by electric pulse.

Research on Mould Powder of Weathering Steel Beam Blank Continuous Casting
In this paper,the character of weathering steel beam blank continuous casting was researched,the surface quality of beam blank and the reasons of breakout of beam blank continuous casting were analyzed.On the basis of these results,the designing plan of weathering steel mould powder was came up with,and the relationship between lubrication and heat transfer was researched.This kind of mould powder was applied in beam blank continuous casting machine,and the continuous casting heat gets 10 above,and there is no breakout,and the surface quality of beam blank was also improved.

The influence of slag compositions on [Ca] and [Al] content in LF refining process
According to co-exist theory of metallurgy melt and with the help of the practical data, mathematical model between slag compositions and [Ca] and [Al] content in LF refining process is built. It analyses the reaction mechanism of the oxidizing reaction and reducing reaction between slag and molten steel, calculates the influence factor of [Ca] and [Al] content with different slag compositions,and also provides theory for nonmetallic inclusions modification.

Study on Highly Efficient Dephosphorization in BOF
Under the process conditions without hot metal pre-dephosphorization treatment, super quality high carbon liquid steel was produced in a converter with low-phosphorus high-carbon tapping from laboratory research and production process optimization by single-slagging high carbon tapping technology. It solved the problem of process technology for low-phosphorus high-carbon tapping. Using the new technology, the average tapping phosphorus content in the super quality high carbon steel was reduced from 0.015% down to 0.011%. The average tapping carbon content was increased from 0.097% up to 0.44%.

The straightening process of Q460 20#angle beam is simulated by FEM on nine roll straightener. The cloud chart of the stress and the strain were obtained in the straightening process, then dynamic change process of the force and the torque of every roll were obtained also. The research on the new Sizing Press anvil
To improve the profile of the slab after SP and increase the production efficiency, a new SP tow-step anvil is put forward in this paper. The experimental and FEM results show that, compared with the old anvil, the peak of the “dog bone” reduces and the thick of the middle slab increases after SP when applying the new tow-step anvil. Meanwhile, the slab width adjustment efficiency of the tow-step anvil increases. Under the same deformation conditions, the slab warp after SP reduces obviously.

Technical Research of 42CrMo Alloy Bar’s Rolling with Cooling
Abstract:The rolling force and energy calculation equition for 42CrMo steel was carried out by practically measured technical parameters and theoretical math model and based on the analysis of the process and equipment abilities in the Alloy Bars Factory, Special Steel Brach,BaoSteel Co.,Ltd. The optimized technology was further determined for 42CrMo steel rolling with cooling. Satisfing the condition of mills and motors abilities, the structural properties and surface quality of the rolled goods, the heating temperature of 42CrMo steel was lowered from 1150刟C to 1030刟C, the total energy consumption was reduce by 6.90%. The target of energy saving was realized.

Simulation of Porosity Closing Behavior During Extra-Heavy Plate Rolling
The closing behavior of porosity in continuous casting steel slab during rough transverse rolling was investigated using FE-code, ANSYS/LS-DYNA. Process parameters of extra-heavy Q345 steel plate obtained from a Chinese iron and steel works were used as a reference. The slab of initial width 3500mm and thickness 320mm was rolled down to 140mm. The results indicate that rectangular porosity in extra-heavy plate can be closed with appropriate reduction. The size and location of porosity have evident influence on closing behavior. Surface porosity needs the largest critical reduction to close, and the critical reduction of porosity located at 1/8 thickness is lowest. It’s an effective method to avoid porosity by increasing pass reduction over 18% for extra-heavy plate rolling. The larger of λ(ratio of porosity length to height), the smaller of critical reduction needs for closing. When λ increases from less than 1 to more than 1, the critical reduction rapidly decreases, but it slightly decreases with λ further increasing. Porosity closing as double “Y-shape” with λ<1, and like a “Z-shape” when λ≥1.

Research and Development of X60 Pipeline Steel by Flexible Thin Slab Rolling Process
This paper has designed the composition of X60 pipeline steel based on the systematically research of Niobium micro alloy. The 87mm×1538mm thin slab has been obtained by controlling the parameters of FTSR process. In the rolling process, Controlled rolling and controlled cooling technology has been used to get the coil which thickness is 7.9mm.The microstructure of produce pipeline has no duplex grain structure by detection, and the mechanical property are all satisfied with the necessary. By checking out the fracture surface, the ductility dimple has been found and there is no laminate, the production has met the API-5L standard and engineering application.

Effect of Heat Treatment Process on Magnetic Performance of 0Cr17Ni
Abstract: The quenching at different temperature and the temper at high temperature affect the magnetic performance of stainless steel .It analyses microscopic structure、feature of carbide precipitation and content of retained austenite and explains how the magnetic performance changes. The result shows that as the austenitizing temperature is higher and ferrite content is more, the magnetic performance is better. The temper at high temperature can improve the magnetic performance greatly. On the other hand, if the temperature of austenitizing is too high, retained austenite is too much and crystal grain too big, the Magnetic Performance will be fall down.

Influence of Alloy element on Microstructure and Properties of Bridge Steel Plate of HPS 70W
Influence of alloy components on mechanical properties, microstructure and precipitation of second phase particle of bridge steel plate of HPS70W has been studied by the addition of different content of Nb、Mo、V. The results show that alloy element Mo and V have little precipitation strengthening effect on bridge steel plate of HPS 70W, but alloy element Nb has obvious effect on low temperature toughness, strength and ductility of bridge steel plate of HPS70W.

Effect of cooling rate on morphology and property of M2C eutectic carbides in high speed steel
The effect of cooling rate on morphology and property of M2C eutectic carbide in M2 high speed steel was investigated by analysis of cast ingots prepared by sand mould and metal mould. The corresponding mechanism was also explored. The results show that the morphology of M2C carbides transforms from lamellar to rodlike with the increase of cooling rate. Meanwhile, the concentration of alloying elements in M2C decreases while it increases in the matrix. The decomposition process of lamellar and rodlike M2C is significantly different. After decomposition, MC forms inside lamellar M2C while it exists at the interface of rodlike M2C/γ. The DTA curve indicates that rodlike M2C is more unstable and decomposes at lower temperature than lamellar M2C. The property of M2C depends on the distribution of alloying elements, which varies greatly at different cooling rates.

ELC Steel Production by Ferritic Hot Rolling Process
The hot rolled microstructure, texture and properties of an ELC steel hot rolled in ferrite region, cold rolled and annealed were studied. The results show that deformation bands are the main microstructure in the hot rolled sample and fish-bone in-grain shear bands are visible when magnification times is 1000. Texture is homogenous along the thickness direction of the sheet in hot rolled, cold rolled as well as annealed status. r-value of the cold rolled and annealed sheet is around 1.3, meeting the needs of DQ class.

Effect of Interaction Between Recrystallization and Transformation on Microstructure and Properties
Effect of thermal processing on microstructures and properties in dual phase steels was systematically investigated. The experimental results present there exists a critical temperature during intercritical annealing in cold-rolled dual phase steels. Microstrucuture charaterized by band-like ferrite was observed when the annealing temperature above the critical temperature, whereas typical dual-phase microstrucutre characterized by martensite dispersed around ferrite was observed. The experimental results were interpreted by interaction between recrystallization and phase transformation during interciritcal annealing of cold-rolled dual phase steels. The band-like ferrite was formed because phase transformation occurred prior to recrystallization, which could be eliminated by pre-recrystallization at lower temperature.

Calculation and Analysis of Exergy Balance of Hot Blast Stove in Baosteel
The thermal balance of No.4 BF and No.1 BF stove in Baosteel was calculated. On the basis of the results,the exergy balance was analyzed. The results show that the exergy efficiency is lower than the thermal efficiency. The exergy efficiency of No.1 BF stove is 6.54% less than No.4 BF stove. The main loss of exergy is focused on the burning irreversible process,the waste gas discharging process,the heat exchanging process and the uncompleted burning process. The measures of saving exergy of hot blast stove are proposed. The exergy can be saved by using reasonable air excess ratio,burning with rich oxygen,reducing the temperature of waste gas,improving the cold air temperature and raising the level of heat recovery device.

Utilization of Chromium-and-Nickel Bearing Rolling Scale at a Dephosphorization Station
In order to utilize Cr-and-Ni bearing rolling scales produced in staleless steel works in the dephosphorization process and recycle valuable metals, melting experiments of dephosphorizing agents and dephosphorization experiments of hot metal were carried out, with dephosphorization fluxes of varying compositions prepared with various proportion of Cr-and-Ni bearing rolling scales instead of sintering ore. It is feasible to use Cr-and-Ni bearing rolling scales to replace 50% of the sintering ore in dephosphorizer, with the ratio of lime and fluorite to iron oxide is less than 1 in the dephosphorization fluxes.

Study of TDS2101 Duplex Stainless Steel Plate
Abstract: Duplex stainless steel is has high strength (yield strength of duplex stainless steel is two times that of austenitic stainless steel ), excellent corrosion resistance and weldability. In addition, the content of costly metal elements Ni and Mo are notably lowered compared with that of austenitic stainless steel, which has identical performances and the cost is deceased. Consequently, it is wildly applied in petroleum, chemical engineering, shipbuilding, architecture (and other fields). Duplex stainless steel TDS2101 with low Ni and high N is better than (the) common 304(L) stainless steel on corrosion resistance and yield strength, so steel is economized by reducing thickness of the wall on design aspect. Based on above merits, TDS2101 is the perfect substitute for 304(L) in certain fields, and its market prospect is wide in petroleum, chemical engineering, architecture and sea water desalination fields etc. In this paper,the refining,hot rolling and practice performances of TDS2101 are investigated in term of plate manufacturing.
