Abstract:Based on the quality defects (such as intermediate crack, cracks in the triangle area, central segregation and central porosity) appeared in slab production in a steel plant, QES (Quality estimation system) and dynamic cooling system were used to adjust process parameters, optimize the working status of the field devices and strengthen the technological operation, thus the slab quality was improved greatly. By analyzing the formation causes of intermediate crack in slab, the method of QES in improving the slab quality was introduced, and the whole improving process was shown in this paper.
