Process Control of Dephosphorization by MultiFunctional Refining in Converter

Abstract:The porblems caused by low hot metal ratio and low dephosphorization rate was solved by multifunctional refining in converter at Fujian Sansteel.Based on thermodynamics and experiments, the temperature range for dephosphorization was obtained. The factors influencing on dephosphorization were analyzed and suitable slag basicity and (FeO) content in molten slag were determined. The results show such refining makes the end phosphorus content to meet the requirements for high quality steel,and product cost can be reduced.
