Abstract:The key factors limiting the high-rate pulverized coal injection (PCI) operation in blast furnace (in short: BF) process were discussed, the practice of BF production with higher availability and lower fuel rate at Baosteel and experiences from that was also analyzed. A technical considering methodology for reasonable PC rate was proposed afterwards. It is emphasized that higher BF productivity should be realized at maximum bosh gas index based on higher blast temperature and excellent qualities of raw materials instead of realized only by higher blast volume and melting strength.
