Abstract：Pilot production of 540 MPa hot rolled dualphase strip at Baotou CSP Plant is introduced. 160 t 540 MPa CMn hot rolled dualphase strip was produced by controlled rolling and controlled cooling using laminar cooling and UFC(ultrafast cooling) equipment. The strips have low yield stress, small yield ratio, high elongation, high nvalue and good low temperature impact toughness. No yield point on the tensile curve is observed, the island martensite is distributed among the ferrite grain boundaries uniformly. The produced dualphase steel was used for making beam and frame cover of heavyduty truck at the automobile manufactory.
