Integrated optimization of clearance and overlap in process of rotary shears

Abstract:In view of the lack of uniform evaluation criterion between strip edge cutting process and downstream customer,an effective and practical quality evaluation method on strip cutting edge is developed which is on the basis of the analysis of three main quality defects including edge defect,veining defect and cut-off ratio imbalance after a lot of field experiments and theoretical research,combining the equipment and cutting process characteristics. Then,the comprehensive quality evaluation function of the strip cutting edge is used as the objective function,and the clearance quantity and the overlap quantity as the optimization variables,a set of integrated optimization and setting techniques for clearance and overlap in the process of rotary shears are developed. It has been applied to a steel production line 1 420. The strip trimming quality is greatly improved,and the commuted rate of edge defect,veining defect and cut-off ratio imbalance reduced from 0.52% before the technology application down to 0.03%,which protects the free repair. Thus,it creates a greater economic benefit for enterprises and has the value for further popularization and application.
