Abstract:For the GH2909 alloy bar treated by vacuum induction melting, vacuum arc remelting, high temperature homogenized diffusion and free forging, the single point reflection defect was founded in the process of water immersion ultrasonic detection. After location sampling of defect, the mechanical properties, optical microstructures and EDS map scanning of defect and adjacent areas were analyzed. The results proved that the type of single point reflection defect belonged to the cavity crack defect which was formed by the segregation of oxides rich in Ti and Mg elements.
