Abstract:For plate rolling mill, the influence of slab temperature, head end immersion at biting, use of AGC system, pressure sensor and broadening ratio on oversize in thickness of plate at head and tail ends is analyzed.Low temperature at plate head and tail ends greatly affects the oversige in thickness, because not only of increased plasticity coefficient, but of genetic effect of this influence. The influence of head immersion at biting on thickness of head and tail ends can be removed by immersion compensation. The influence of biting without AGC can be partly reduced by slowing the biting speed. If broadening ratio is too low, the thickness at head and tail ends would be increased, and the thickness would reduced if this ratis is too high. The results afford theoretical base for gauge control at head and tail ends and were proved by practice.
